Another IWDD vigil and a note about our vigils

This week we also highlighted International Women’s Day for Disarmament, celebrated on 24th May. You can see the full leaflet in last week’s vigil entry. This week’s photos focus on the leaflets we give out at each vigil. Because we vigil in silence, the leaflets to explain what we are concerned about, to passers-by so they will understand and hopefully support us.

The women who give out the leaflets don’t stay silent, but also respond to people’s questions (including a lot of people who ask us directions!), and urge people to sign a short letter that we usually place at the bottom of each leaflet. We put the signed letters into our red Women in Black postbox, and then send them off to the relevant government department each week. So if you are passing, please stop and sign!
