Women in Iran should have the right to life, dignity, safety and freedom
We are deeply angry, concerned and saddened by the deaths of Mahsa Amini, Sarina Esmailzadeh, Hadis Najafi and more than 184 others – including schoolgirls – murdered by the morality police this month in Iran, during the security forces’ violent response to protests.
We are horrified by these reports and condemn all violence against protesters and bystanders.
Women in Iran should have the right to life, dignity, safety and freedom of expression and protest.
In this vigil we stand with the thousands who have taken to the streets in Iran to demand accountability for the deaths of these women, and for crimes against humanity that include murder, enforced disappearance and torture
without fear of consequences.
We call for an end to violence and discrimination against women in Iran. We stand in solidarity with every single woman and all those who stand for human rights – especially women in Iran today.
